The time of Discoveries

Christopher Colombus

1. -Where/when born?
He was born in Genova (Italy) in about 1451.

2. -What did he try to find in his first voyage?
He was looking for a Western Route to the Indies (Asia)

3. -Which countries/financial support?
He asked for financial help from Portugal and England, but finally got support from The Catholic Monarchs of Spain.

4. -Why did he called the inhabitants“Indians”?
Because he believed he was in the indies, so he called the inhabitants "Indians"

5. -Hoy many voyages to the Carribean?
He made four voyages to the Carribean.

 Jaques Cartier

1. - Where/when born?
Jaques cartier was born in St. Malo (Britain) in 149.

2. -Important Voyages
His three most important voyages were to the Gulf of St. Lorence and St. Lorence River.

3. -Places Discovered
He discovered Canada and he claimed it for France.

4. -Interesting Facts
They made some stamps of him because of his huge discovery.
